Our rapidly growing 54-bed community hospital provides a wide range of medical and surgical inpatient services. The first hospital medical and pediatric wards with 24 total beds and a central nursing station opened in 2009. A two-room operating suite, surgical equipment, sterilization and prep room, and surgical ward were dedicated in December 2011. In 2022 CEH is performing 300 major cases and 500 minor cases per year.  The dentistry department began in 2014, providing treatment for dental diseases and restorative dentistry. The ophthalmology department began services in 2015, providing cataract surgery with intraocular lens implants under the leadership of Dr. Michael Ketema, academic missionary (CBM) ophthalmologist at the Donka University Hospital in Conakry. A digital x-ray unit was installed in 2017. Trauma and orthopedic services were added in 2021. Our long-term vision is to grow into a 120+ bed hospital with general surgery and family medicine residency programs and a nursing school.
