Rev. Dr. Brent Slater
Rev. Dr. Brent Slater is the senior pastor of Highland Park Baptist Church in Southfield, Michigan where he is involved in preaching and church administration.
Brent received his Bachelors in History with a Secondary Education degree from Hope College, his Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary, and his Ph.D. in Education from the University of Edinburgh, UK.
Brent was born and raised in Cote d'Ivoire, West Africa. He spent 20 years as a missionary in Uganda, East Africa, where he worked as a church planter and was involved in leadership training with CBInternational, now called WorldVenture. He gained administrative experience as Uganda Field Chairman for CBInternational for many years. He established a Theological Education by Extension program in western Uganda and developed the Western Uganda Baptist Theological College, where he was active for many years in curriculum design and teacher development programs and as an instructor. He has also been a lecturer at William Tyndale College, Kampala Evangelical School of Theology and Michigan Theological Seminary. His last years in Uganda, he worked with the Uganda Baptist Union in developing curriculum for pastoral training.
Brent and his wife, Inell, have 3 sons and live in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
